Tuesday’s Tip: Estate paperwork and genealogy

Estate paperwork (the stuff filed after someone dies) is a genealogical goldmine: it lists who the person’s name, what they did, where they were living, and who they were related to. But unfortunately for us, it rarely states any of that information straight out!

About.com Genealogy just published a guide to interpreting estate paperwork a little easier. It explains how to read inventories and administration appointments, as well as newspaper notifications… Now all you have to do is find those documents!
