I’ve always believed that genealogy is about more than just history : knowing what diseases your ancestors carried and how they died can help determine your own medical risk.
And a new study supports my belief. Recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, it argues that a number of cancers have a genetic or inherited component. Knowing what your ancestor died of may serve as an early warning. Read the article from NBC News here.
