How do I start my application to the General Society of Mayflower Descendants?

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (“Mayflower Society”) is made up of 54 member societies.

To start your application, you need to begin by choosing the society to which you would like to apply. Some applicants choose a society based on emotional ties to an area. They may have grown up there, or it may be where an ancestor lived. Some apply based on fees. (Yes, application fees do vary based on the member society.) Still others choose a society based on where they’re most likely to be active. If you’re seeking to network, the last is usually your best option.

Once you have the society identified, follow the directions provided by their contact to start your application. You should plan to have at a line identified, and if possible, your documentation gathered.
